History of EM

In 1982 Dr. Teruo Higa presented his new discovery to to the international market. Dr.Higa called this discovery "Effective Microorganisms". Since then, the use of Effective Microorganisms™ has spread to over 120 countries. Effective Microorganisms™ is a brand name, not a generic term, referring to a proprietary blend of non-pathogenic microorganisms that secrete benificial compounds for other life. From this original product, a technology has formed. Dr. Higa calls this EM Technology™.

EM America offers only the original, authentic, and certified brand, Effective Microorganisms™, (EM-1®), produced under the direct supervision of Dr. Teruo Higa, by EM Research Organizatio 's (EMRO) highly trained scientists in Tucson, Arizona at EMRO USA Effective Microorganisms .EMRO USA is the ONLY facitlity in North America currently producing Dr. Higa's products. This facility has been food grade since 2003 and is one over 50 such Effective Microorganisms™ production centers in the world.
